Ride Log #8 @ Ashton Court on 02 June 2002

Back

As we were racing in the SAMS event on Sunday Mike and myself thought it would be worthwhile going up to Ashton Court to have a look-see at the race circuit. We started by the main entrance and headed up along the single-track next to the perimeter wall (bit boggy) within 5 minutes I was struck with my first puncture! We worked our way up to the top of the park and found the SAMS guys marking the track, they managed to describe the full route so off we went. Apparently they have been having some trouble with the horsey people removing track markers and generally making ass's of themselves!!!***!!! Still Mike and Me have a nice time and it was bloody hot! After doing the route a couple of times we headed off back to the car.
This time the tyres were fine but it was my nice new HG73 chain that snapped (just as well I carry a splitter!) a quick link removal job and we were off.

We loaded the car and headed off to the nearest shop to get a replacement chain. It was just as well we decided to go out and get the route sussed or my chain probably would have gone during the race! now that would have been a bummer!
