Ride Log #6 @ Nine Barrow Down on 14 April 2002

Back

First order of the day was to see if Jason could bare the pain of sitting on his saddle after the epic of the previous day! Much to his dissapointment the pain was unbareable so he gracefully admitted that Grahame and Myself were more superior examples of the human physique!! anyway off we went camelbacks bulging with H2O and IBuprofen! We headed over Durlston Head and into Swanage via a massive open fields descent (which I though might clear our heads) We then climbed onto the top and then took the opportunity to take 5 and have something to eat and drink. On next to Corfe Castle - on reaching Corfe we decided not to go into the town as it would invlove a nasty uphill back onto the same path we were currently on. So like a couple of cowards we turned around and remade our tracks. The downhill section off the down was fantastic and I was convinced that was the fastest I'd ever been off road on a bike.

After leaving the down we headed back in to Swanage and then climbed up to the van we were staying in.

Nice ride, short (15 miles) but sweet.
