Ride Log #4 @ Upton Cheyney on 31 March 2002

Back

We had decided to go on a mountain biking weekend to Swanage and ride the Isle of White classic from MBR in April. But before we leave some of the team wanted to get some more hours in the saddle - to ease the pain (so to speak!)

Due to a hectic weekend schedule we decided on the old Upton Cheyney ride again as it's riding distance from both our houses with no need for cars. We met (Gray and Myself) under the railway bridge in Bitton at 7:30am. Both barely awake and ready for action we breezed the road section - well until we hit the infamous Upton Cheyney hill!!! not too bad for me this time as I've been managing to ride to work for the last few months but I think Gray struggled a little bit! Anyway we made it to the top and once on to the bridleways were pleasantly surprised to see no mutant mud, in fact the conditions were perfect! slight breese dry and cool. I really don't have much more to say, the ride was great and if anything too short!

It's rides like this that really make you understand why you got hooked in the first place. MTB'ing is by far the past sport I have ever taken up and people that haven't tried it yet really don't know what they're missing out on.

Anyway until the next time
